Welcome to the Colorado Calligraphers' Guild home on the web.

The Colorado Calligraphers' Guild was formed to promote the study, practice and appreciation of calligraphy in all its historical and present day applications, to encourage individual excellence and foster a deeper understanding of calligraphy.

A non-profit organization, the Guild elects officers and holds regular meetings to conduct its business.

Guild News - updated Jan 24th, 2012

Ask the Expert, a new addition to our newsletter is now taking questions about calligraphy.  Do you you have a question about nibs, paper, ink, or even quills?  What should you learn first, Italics, Foundational, or Uncials?  Click on our 'Contact Us' link and send us an email with your questions for our next newsletter.

(Our first Studio Group meeting, with (l to r: Margaret Stookesbury, Geoff, Ferguson, and Alison Richards)

The first meeting of the Studio Group on January 15th was small, but a lot of fun for the five of us there.  We met at David Ashley's studio.  In the image Margaret Stookesbury is describing her in-work project for the Guild's April show at Regis University.  Artwork brought to the meeting included Geoff's envelopes and invitation, Alison brought her in-work project for the April show, Ed Erfurth brought a Christmas card project, and David Ashley had a wide range of artwork in his studio. We discussed everything from materials to pen technique, the thought process behind a project.

The Studio Group is a wonderful opportunity for the experienced and beginning calligrapher to ask questions, learn about techniques, exchange ideas, and just have fun with other calligraphers.
