The Colorado Calligraphers' Guild was formed to promote the study, practice and appreciation of calligraphy in all its historical and present day applications, to encourage individual excellence and foster a deeper understanding of calligraphy.
A non-profit organization, the Guild elects officers and holds regular meetings to conduct its business.

February 11-14, the Boulder International Film Festival will be screening The Secret of Kells, the Academy Award nominated animated film. Adventure, action and danger await 12 year old Brendan who must fight Vikings
and a serpent god to find a crystal and complete the legendary Book of Kells. (from the film's website, www.thesecretofkells.com).

The Graceful Envelope Contest
The Washington Calligraphers Guild has issued a call for entries for this years contest. The theme is A Stream of Letters. It has three categories, Adult, Junior (Grades 7 through 12), and Child (Grades 1 through 6). Click here for the contest page and past winning envelopes. Note: Angela Tingle, a CCG member from Buena Vista, received an Honorable Mention in the 2009 contest. The winners have been posted at the website. Her daughter won in the Junior Division and several of her students won in the Children's Division. Just look for the winners with Colorado addresses.
The Odyssey 2010 Calligraphy Conference at Stonehill College in Easton MA, has a number of scholarships for young adults (18+). Click on the link in the right column of this page for a video on the Conference, and scholarship information.
