During this program, Tess Vonfeldt-Gross will share some of her recent adventures in painting loose watercolor flowers, stems & leaves, which she then uses as backgrounds for practice pages, folded booklets, simple mobiles, mini art pieces, and embellishment for greeting cards. We will then work on a simple painted page together, which we can transform into a folded booklet, a set of mini art pieces, or a background for calligraphy practice.
Tess has carried on a love affair with words, letters and calligraphy since high school as she studied English literature and writing, and later when she taught herself calligraphy and scribed the titles to her university term papers in various hands. Since then, she has taken workshops with several well-known calligraphers, including Stan Knight, Carol DuBosch, Sharon Zeugin, David Ashley, Sandy Marvin, Carrie Imai, John Stevens, Brody Neuenschwander, and so on into the future… She enjoys learning and teaching this rewarding craft and finding uses for both finished lettering, practice sheets and goof-ups! It’s all worthy…. As far as watercolor painting is concerned, Tess recently discovered a love for this art form when attending online programs taught by Connie Furgason, Pat Blair, Sally Penley and Joly Poa. That adventure continues as she attends more workshops and experiments with various colors, strokes, tools, and paper.
