Non-members: $130 (includes a one year membership to Colorado Calligrapher’s Guild)
20 students maximum
All levels welcome
Starting with the pointed pen, students will begin exploring the basic strokes and lowercase letters from the traditional copperplate hand. We will then move on to some exercises that break the rules of the traditional to give us the more modern, playful look. On the second day, we will try the pointed brush and begin writing quotes in small compositions, using color and other inks.
This is an online Zoom class with full interaction with the instructor during class time. If possible, students should have two devices available so the instructor can see faces and work surfaces. A Zoom link will be sent to all participants a few days before the workshop. If you haven’t used Zoom yet, we will have a tech session offered before the workshop to show you how to use it. This workshop will be recorded and participants will be sent a link afterward to access online anytime.
Julie Wildman is a calligrapher, graphic designer and instructor. She works from her studio in northwest Indiana, near Chicago.
She loves line, shape, color, texture, paper, ink, and paint and often can’t believe she gets to play with them for a living! She enthusiastically shares her love of “beautiful writing” with young and old by teaching calligraphy for staff development classes, on-site promotional events, community programs and personal growth workshops throughout the U.S., Canada, and currently on Zoom for people all over the world!
