GUILD ARCHIVES

The guild archives are housed at Regis University’s Dayton Library located at 50th and Lowell in north Denver.  To see a list of holdings, go the Regis Library website  http://lumen.regis.edu/ select the Dayton Library, KEYWORD and enter “Colorado Calligraphers’ Guild.”

An endowment purchases new books annually.  To find these, enter “Mari Stookesberry” for KEYWORD.  These books are in the special collections area and are not available for checkout.  They may be examined at the library.

BASIC SUPPLIES FOR WORKSHOPS

  • Slant Board
  • Paper (good, practice & tracing)
  • Pens, nibs, holders (whatever you are comfortable with)
  • Ink, and a way to anchor the bottle
  • Gouache or other color media, black white, 2-3 colors
  • Palette
  • Mixing brush
  • Eye Dropper
  • Small bottle of distilled water
  • Markers, chisel nib & pointed
  • Paper towels or rag
  • Pencils (graphite & colored) or Auto pencil, 3-5 mm
  • Small piece of fine sandpaper
  • Erasers
  • X-acto knife & #11 blades
  • Scissors
  • White artist tape
  • T-square and/or Triangle
  • Ruler
  • Glue stick
  • Bone folder
  • Brushes
  • Notebook for taking notes
  • Quotes or favorite passages
  • Two water containers—one for clean, one for not
  • Specific supplies for workshop from flyer
  • Apron
  • Eyeglasses
  • Chocolate
  • Coffee mug
  • A smile and an open heart and mind
